Basic Safety
Here's a couple of things you should remember
when playing with airsofts
- Always wear eye protection.
- Always treat an airsoft as if it were loaded
until you visually check it out.
- Always have your airsoft pointed in a safe
direction.
- Always learn how your airsoft works before
handling it.
- Always keep your airsoft unloaded when you
are not using it.
- Always store your airsoft and ammunition
in separate locked places so no child has access to the airsoft.
- Never point your firearm in any direction
you do not intend to shoot. In particular, never point your gun
in the direction of other people.
- Never assume that a gun is secure, i.e. some
guns have excellent security systems to prevent accidental firing
(e.g. when dropped), others don't.
- Never put your finger on the trigger unless
you are ready to shoot.
- Never pass your firearm to anybody until
you have checked that it is unloaded.
- Never carry your gun with the hammer cocked.
- If you have to carry your gun loaded, always
point it in a safe direction (e.g. the ground).
- Be sure of your target and what is beyond
it.
- Treat all guns as if it's loaded. This includes
airsofts. Especially with airsofts. AEGs and gas blowbacks will
leave at least one BB in the chamber so even if you took the
magazine out the gun may still be loaded.
- Be concious of where the muzzle of your gun
is pointing.
- Be discreet. You know it's not a real gun
but others may think it is.
- Be aware. Always know what's around you when
you shoot.
- Watch for ricrochets. These BB goes everywhere
so see rule one.
- Be aware of the area behind the target. You
don't want to break anything if you miss or the BB goes through
the target.
- Remember it's all fun and games until someone
looses an eye.
well this is alI can think of off the top of
my head. Let me know if you can think up some more safety advices.
