Maruzen M1100 Pistol

Thanx for the note back. Feel free to post anything of interest. With
regards to the M1100, It started life as a Maruzen M1100 magazine type.
I bought this on impulse from our local softair shop. It is a lovely gun.
Problem is, I dont have much call for a large secondary weapon. So I
started out playing with it to see what I could do with it. First stop,
I dropped the stock off and mated it up to a friends TM M4. Looked cool
as fuck, but added nothing to my game. Then on my trip to Florida, I
picked up a copy of Gun Digests book of Assault Weapons. In the section on
scatterguns was a picture of a modified 870. Built for the Marshall
service it was pistol gripped and looked evil. So, I deceided to build a heavy
duty sidearm. The conversion is quite simple. A gas reservoir was sourced
from a defunct TM gas pistol ( a cheap NBB desert eagle) this is spliced onto
the existing gas line from the back of the action. Here came the only
difficult part, the hose's are of different diameter. A custom brass adaptor was
turned up on a friends lathe and the pipes joined. This sits inside a
grip made of fibreglass. This was cast from a pattern carved in balsa wood.
The rear sling swivel was swopped from the old stock to the new grip, and a
short sling added. The gun now hangs off my shoulder and is retained by
a Blackhawk Industries quik release weapon retention strap.( FANTASTIC
PRODUCT) I find I can get about 3 mags out of the gas between charges.
As an aside, you have a great site. It offers a wealth of information
and the themed news is a great touch. Keep up the good work. I will keep
you abreast of my tinkerings and send you piccies when i get the camera. I
am currently finishing up on the shottie and looking for a new project.
Any suggestions? Toying withthe idea of a repeating grenade launcher.
Firing something along the lines of the ANGS shell. (Have you seen these
things go? Wow!!!) Anyway, till the next, watch your six.
