BB's AIRSOFT JAMBOREE

3.10.01

Oh boy another Hi-Cap 1911 race gun!! I can hardly wait! I thought everone got the IPSC bug out of their system by now. Guess noy because WA is releeasing the "Wilson Hi-Cap Championship" a Hi-Cap, like the hi-cap, tacticals, comps, & ProKiller with the WA logo, the Hi-Cap, tacticals, comps, & ProKiller with the SV logo and now the Hi-Caps. tacticals, and now a comp with the Wilson logo. Let me guess, there will also be a ProKiller with the Wilson Logo out later this year. When the going gets tough, don't spen the dough in R&D, instead go sign a Trade Mark contract with a real steel maker, slap a new madellion on the grip panel and you have a new product.

But to give credit to WA, they are working on a airsoft version on the Beretta 9000. They just got started so don't expect to see the 9000 as a shooting GBB any time soon.

And now for something different. A Mauser! Hey haven't seen this as an airsoft. We have Beretta 92s from at least 3 makers, USPs from 2, 1911 from 4 and nobody has made a gas Mauser airsoft till now. Too bad it's not a GBB and it's made by Marushin, a good model gun company that just can't seem to produce a decent, reliable airsoft gun. Maybe this time it'll be different... BA HA HA HA... no but seriously the verdic is still out on this one since it has not hit the streets yet.

Another John Browning design, the Browning Hi-Power, it's the 1911 of Europ. HP has been the standard side arm of many Europian armed forces until they too switch to a Sig, Beretta, or a HK. Tanaka makes this beautiful HP MkIII. powered by the "Magna-Blowback" mechanism licensed from WA, it should be a decent shooter... if Tanaka worked out the bugs in the magazine.

I'll be in Finals Hell then off to Taiwan from next week on so no news update until April. But I'll tell you all about the airsoft scene when I get back.

With the success of the Walther P99 Type U GBB Maruzen went ahead and released the Mac 11 with the type U mechanism. Not wanting to waste a perfectly good design, Maruzen is in the habit of re-releasing a proven design every time they came up with a new mechanism. The M11 have been a springer, a semi gas gun, a full-auto gas gun, a gas blowback and now a type U full-auto GBB. Well... not breaking tradition The next type U GBB is the Micro Uzi. Like the Mac11 the Micro UZI was a semi auto gas gun, a GBB and now a type U GBB. At least that was the game plan. Recently Maruzen lost the lawsuit filed by Western Arms concerning something about Patent infringement of the toy gun auto BB feed mechanism. Since my Japanese is not that good I don't know if it was a lawsuit filed or lawsuit won. I also don't know if this means Maruzen would need to cease and desists making the Mac11 and Uzi pistol product line.

While trouling for new I came across this tid bit from BBgunLand. IT's in Chinese so I'll take the liberty to do some translating.

According to VegaPlus's sources the Marui P90 is 504mmlong 210mmhigh and weights in at 5.4kg. It has the same Gearbox (type 6) as the Thomson and uses a mini battery. Besides the standard cap magazine, a 420 round Hi-Cap battery will be available. Price and release date is still unknown.

Another Marui product to come down the pike this year is the limited edition "Samurai Edge 3 Berry Burton Model" Just in time for the 5th anniversary of Capcom's Biohazard game. This Samui Edge will feature a 4 port compensator, a under frame rail for attaching lasers and tac light, Novak sight and a 32 round extended magazine. It will come in it's own aluminum presentation case. It's due out in April. Separated at birth... TM Samuri Edge3 and WA BladeMaster 1. humm...

Anyways, Thanks VegaPlus.

Well... boy and girl it looks like Marui's P90 is vaporware nomore! The pic on the left is from the official Marui web site and it looks like we will be getting the P90m after all. With all of the bells and whistle even. It'll come with a standard magazine that has dummy rounds inside... can you say WAY COOL?. It also looks like we will get the rails that's the hotest gun accessory since sites were invented as an optional accessory. What version mech box? don't know. What kind of battery? no clue. How much? beats me. When will we see it? when it gets here. Basically, not much is known at this point about the P90 except the P90 ain't a pipe dream. Start saving your lunch money because you'll want more than just one. =-)

Thanks to Stinger and Sazabi from Airsoft Zone's forum for these messages.

RK00 have a review of the Hong Kong NSN ACOG scope and the WA CQB at NEASG's web site's reviews page. Thanks RK00.

New MGC Bob Chow Special 1911

Some more airsoft 1911s. Ever wanted a Clark 1911 MeltDown or a Kimber CDP 1911 in airsoft. Well look no further. The New MGC has a Bob Chow Special that is basically a full size 1911 that received the melt down treatment. Based on the Western Arms Megna Blowback technology this single column 1911 would be a shooter AND and show piece.

I updated the Links page and the Dealers Page. Added are several Japanese web sites and exfoliated many dead links.

Well... It is Febuary and to follow up on the Hong Kong faux ACOG scope story i mention a while back. It would seem that the DenTrinity shop has it for $199 go to their site to read about it. I'm still waiting for the SFL version to see if it's worth the $80 price tag for a non-functional plastic mock up or a $200 functional metal scope.

Well... minuets after I updated this page I went looking for the sites and came across this at Guys N Guns web page. It's the SFL model in it's basic pieces. It looks like $20 bucks worth of plastic. Kindda like the MGS LAMP unit for the MK23. I was thinking of sticking a red dot sight inside the SFL mock up to make it semi functional. GUys N Gun is selling the NSN acog for 1200HKD and the SFL for 500HKD.

Thank you everAt the Airsoft Bash I brought along a copy of Febuary issue of ARMS magazine, The theme of this issue was on US Spec Op equipments. There was an article on the Kochi Bombers, a groups of Airsoft Players/re-enactors/Costum Player that recreats the fashion brought forth by the various Special Operation personals. There were several players asking about the article after thye Bash so I though I'd share their web site with everyone. Remember the site is in Japanese but that desn't stop you from looking at the pictures.

Thank you everyone who attended my humble little Airsoft Bash. We had players from the Cimmerians, Delta6, Jasoc, and of course BAASH attending. Airsoft Extreme was kind enough to provide Lunch. It was a casual event with lots of war stories and upgrade tips. We also got to load up with military gears that Airsoft Extreme brought along. There were some fancy show and tell airsofts that needs to be seen to believe. A HK G3 with RIS and Japanese C-Mag that looks like a HK11, A full metal Marui AK47 Full stock, a Steyr Aug HBar. A couple of us got to two fist the KSC TMP in full auto. There were also the New SR16 with the Den Trinity's Beta C-Mag. Couple of us did a disecssion and found it to be very well build. It is a motorized Hi-Cap, 2000 rounds!!, mag that is powered by a 9V servo motor. The whole setup is very slick. Airsoft Extreme has 2 demo units and will get more in later. e-mai them for detail. Over all, it was good to see everyone out of BDUs and in a friendly envirament.

Update on the Airsoft BASH in the SF Bayarea That I'm throwing. Thumper @ Airsoft Extreme is gracious enough to bring food to the party and My Team Mates from BAASH is bring Drinks. It's looks pretty enough if the weather man says it's going to rain on Saturday.

Well... When it rains it pours. I just bought the WA Shubuya Special 2001 The Wilson Combat Protector and here Western Arms Decides to release two, count them, 2 more Custom 1911. The Wilson Combat Protector in Silver and the Wilson Combat Service Grade CQB. They are basically the same 1911 as the Protector except the Silver is in... Silver and the CQB has a Grey frame and Black Slide ( like the TRP model WA put out last year that no one saw) The prices are 21300 yen for the Silver Protector and 19800yen for the CQB. Since these are Limited Edition it may carry a higher sticker in the states.

The real Wilson Protector. it costs $1895 and a waiting list of 3 months and not available to Californians.

Okay, more on the
Western Arms Shibuya Custom Shop Wilson Protector. It's 6.3 inches long and weights about 2lbs. Has a magazine cap of 15 bbs. Faux dove tail 1 dot front and Wilsons Novak-like low profile 2 dot rear sight. skeletonized hammer, Front and read slide serration, Vidicky adjustedable trigger and memory notch bevertail grip safety, extended thumb safety (single side), flate main spring housing, silver barrel, Faux wood grip panel with Wilson medallion. The magazine is silver with black plasic bumper. All of the trademark is of Wilson Combat so besides the orange paint AirsoftExtreme left the trademark intact and important issue with a collector such as I =-). Haven't had a chance to take it outdoor to put it through it's pace but when I do you'll be the first to know the results.
